Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FASL ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

FASL operates from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and handles your personal data in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law. We are the controller of your personal data and can be reached at support@fasl.io.

Why we are allowed to process your data: most of our processing is necessary to perform our agreement with you, that is, to run the Service you asked for (processing your files, managing your account and subscription). Some rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse, and improving it. Some rests on a legal obligation, such as keeping payment records. Where we ask for your consent explicitly, you can withdraw it at any time.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Service:

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and the authentication method you use to sign in (such as email, Google, Apple, or phone number). We do not store your passwords - authentication is handled through secure, industry-standard systems.

Uploaded Files: When you upload audio or video files for processing, we temporarily store those files on our secure cloud infrastructure solely for the purpose of processing and delivering results to you. We do not use your uploaded files for AI model training or any purpose other than providing the Service.

Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps of your interactions. This data helps us maintain, improve, and secure the Service.

Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment transactions are processed by our secure third-party payment provider. FASL does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment credentials. Our payment provider may share limited transaction details (such as billing status and subscription tier) with us to manage your account.

Cookies and Session Data: We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session, remember your language preference, and ensure the proper functioning of the Service. See Section 5 for more details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To process your uploaded files, deliver results, and provide the core functionality of the Service
  • Account Management: To create and manage your account, process subscriptions, and handle billing
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the performance and features of the Service
  • Communication: To send you important notifications about your account, subscription changes, service updates, and responses to your support requests
  • Fraud and Abuse Prevention: To detect, prevent, and address abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms of Service, including preventing circumvention of usage limits
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes unrelated to the Service.

4. File Processing and Storage

Your uploaded files are stored temporarily on our secure cloud infrastructure solely for processing and result delivery. Key details about our file handling practices:

  • Temporary Storage: Files are stored only for the duration of your plan's retention period, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted
  • Retention Periods: File retention varies by subscription plan and is detailed on our Pricing page. Once the retention period expires, files cannot be recovered
  • No AI Training: We do not use your uploaded files to train, improve, or develop AI models. Your files are processed solely to deliver the service you requested
  • Secure Transmission: Files are transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with access controls that restrict access to authorized systems only

We do not analyse who is speaking or what is said. Your files are processed as an audio signal in order to separate music from voice. We do not identify speakers, we do not create voiceprints, and we do not extract or interpret the content of speech. This means the processing does not involve biometric data. If we introduce a feature that converts speech into text, we will update this policy before that feature becomes available, because such a feature would read the content of what is said.

There is one exception, and it is narrow. Where we have a specific reason to believe a particular file breaches our Terms or the law, or where a lawful request requires it, a member of our team may open and review that file. This is not routine and a general suspicion about an account is not enough. When it happens we look at only what the investigation needs, use it only for that purpose, and record that we did it.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following cookies and tracking technologies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function properly. These maintain your login session, store your language preference, and enable core features. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using the Service.
  • Browser Fingerprinting: We use browser fingerprinting techniques solely to prevent abuse of our free tier and detect fraudulent usage patterns. This data is not used for advertising or tracking across other websites.
  • Error Monitoring: We use error monitoring tools to detect and diagnose technical issues in real time, ensuring service reliability and a better user experience. These tools may collect technical data about errors encountered during your use of the Service, along with your account identifier and email address if you are signed in.
  • Analytics: We collect usage data such as page views and product interactions (e.g., uploads, downloads) to understand how the Service is used and improve it. This data is not stored on your device: no cookies or local storage are used for analytics. If you are signed in, we may associate analytics events with your account.
  • Session Replay: We may record replays of your browsing sessions within the Service to identify usability issues, debug errors, and improve the experience. These recordings capture page interactions (clicks, scrolls, navigation) but do not capture passwords, payment details, or other sensitive input fields. If you are signed in, these recordings are linked to your account and are not anonymous. Session replay runs throughout the Service, including the settings page.

We do not use advertising cookies or marketing trackers, we do not participate in ad networks, we do not sell cookie data, and we do not track you across other websites for advertising.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party service providers to operate and deliver the Service. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it for the purposes we specify. Our key service providers include:

  • Authentication Provider (United States): Handles secure account sign-in and identity verification. Receives your email address and name.
  • Cloud Storage Provider (multiple regions): Provides secure, encrypted file storage for uploaded and processed files.
  • Media Processing Provider (European Union): Runs the audio and video processing itself. Receives your file while it is being processed and discards it afterwards.
  • Database Provider (European Union): Stores account and job data securely with encryption at rest.
  • Payment Processor (United States): Handles subscription billing and payment transactions as merchant of record.
  • Email Provider (European Union): Sends account, billing, and notification emails. Receives your email address and the message content.
  • Support Chat Provider (European Union): Powers the chat widget on our support page. Receives what you type into it and your IP address.
  • Abuse Prevention Provider (United States): Helps distinguish real users from automated ones. Receives your IP address and behavioural signals about your device.
  • Error Monitoring Service (European Union): Captures technical errors, along with your account identifier and email address if you are signed in.
  • Analytics Provider (European Union): Processes usage data and session replays to help us improve the Service.
  • Cache and Session Provider (European Union): Holds session data and usage limits.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We identify the providers above by their role and location rather than by brand name; you can request the full named list at any time at support@fasl.io.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Access controls and authentication for internal systems
  • Regular security reviews and monitoring
  • Automatic file deletion upon retention period expiry
  • Secure, time-limited URLs for file downloads

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to maintaining industry-standard protections.

If there is a security incident. If personal data we hold is exposed, lost, or accessed without authorisation, we will notify the Saudi Data and AI Authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it. Where the incident could affect your data or your rights, we will also tell you without undue delay, and we will explain what happened, what data was involved, what we have done about it, and what you can do.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Uploaded Files: Deleted automatically after your plan's retention period expires (ranging from 24 hours to 14 days depending on your subscription tier; details on our Pricing page)
  • Account Data: Retained for as long as your account remains active. When you ask us to delete your account we begin a 30-day window in which you can change your mind, and you should know that signing in again during that window cancels the deletion and reactivates your account. After the 30 days we delete your jobs and the files stored for them, your account records, and your account with our authentication provider.
  • What deletion does not cover: Payment records are kept where tax and accounting law requires, detached from your account. Copies of data may also persist for a limited period in routine backups, and with the providers listed in Section 6 until their own deletion cycles complete. None of it is used to provide the Service to you after deletion. If you need confirmation that a specific piece of data has been removed, contact us at support@fasl.io and we will check and tell you.
  • Usage Logs: Retained for a reasonable period to maintain service security, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized
  • Payment Records: Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations

9. Your Rights

Regardless of where you are located, we provide you with the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data and account. You can delete your account at any time through the Service or by contacting support
  • Right to Restriction: You may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances
  • Right to Data Portability: Where technically feasible, you may request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Right to Object: You may object to the processing of your personal data for certain purposes

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@fasl.io. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an objection to analytics and session replay. When we receive it, our analytics are not loaded at all on that visit: nothing is recorded and no request is made. You do not need to tell us anything or click anything, and the rest of the Service works exactly as it did.

Right to complain. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data or your request, you may lodge a complaint with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), which supervises the Personal Data Protection Law. If you are located elsewhere you may also complain to your local data protection authority. We would rather you told us first at support@fasl.io so we have a chance to put it right.

Automated checks. We run automated checks to detect abuse, including grouping accounts created from the same network address and measuring how often files are submitted. These checks can result in access being slowed, limited, or suspended, as described in our Terms. A person reviews the outcome before an account is suspended or closed, and you can ask us to review any such decision.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, our Terms require you to be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we hold personal data belonging to someone under 18, we will delete it and close the account promptly. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@fasl.io.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed outside Saudi Arabia. FASL operates from the Kingdom, but the service providers listed in Section 6 run their infrastructure in the European Union and the United States, so your information is transferred to, processed in, and stored in those places. This includes the files you upload.

Why the transfer happens: it is necessary to perform the service you asked us for. Your file cannot be cleaned up without being processed, and the processing runs on infrastructure outside the Kingdom.

Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Every provider we use is bound by a written contract requiring them to protect your data, to use it only for the purposes we specify, and not to use your content to train their own models. We keep our transfer arrangements under review and update them as the applicable rules develop.

We handle your personal data in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law, which governs the Service. If you are somewhere that gives you additional rights, the rights in Section 9 are available to you regardless of where you are located.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service with a revised "Last updated" date, and where practicable, by sending a notification via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
